
J. Matthew Sherwood

Dr. Sherwood grew up in his Dad's general practice in Beaumont, TX. He attended veterinary school at Kansas State University and went on to complete a surgical internship at the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center. He then spent just over a decade in general practice in Tomball, TX prior to starting his surgical residency in 2011 at Kansas State University. He particularly enjoys the challenges of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine in canine athletes. He has special interests in internal and external fixation of fractures, cranial cruciate ligament disease, tibial plateau leveling osteotomy, neurosurgery, and wound care. Dr. Sherwood spends his free time fly fishing the Texas coast, working with youth and adults in fly fishing education, listening to live Texas music, and traveling with his family. Dr. Sherwood also enjoys serving as a VIN consultant.
