Small Animal Ophthalmology
May 2-4, 2025
Ophthalmology does not have to feel so foreign! This course will familiarize the general and emergency practitioner with various common ophthalmic conditions. We will start with the ins and outs of a complete ophthalmic examination through lectures and live animal labs. We will then take a trip around the globe and highlight the diagnosis and medical and surgical management of various ophthalmic problems. Cadaver labs will be used to practice surgical techniques for common conditions such as entropion, cherry eye, eyelid masses, proptosis, eyelid lacerations, and enucleation. Our goal is for the practitioner to leave with more confidence to perform these procedures competently in everyday practice.
